I misremeber. Reid's bomb was judged big enough that it would have created enough of a hole to down the plane. The point still stands though: terrorism charges depend on intent. Threatening to murder someone with a .22 gets you the same as threatening with a higher calibre.

In America as drunken teenagers, we throw those mortars at eachother like toy grenades. Extra fun since the launch charge pops it about 20 feet in a random direction before the main charge blows, which just might be back at you if you throw like a euro/girl. A decent layer of non-plastic cloth is sufficient shielding. You'll have little scorch marks on you jeans but it won't get through. Turn away and shield your eyes obviously. Do NOT let it go off in your hand.
