!!! Coming Up !!!
The transition area opens at 5 and the cannon sounds at 7 o'clock, Saturday Morning, Kona time!!!

If you don't know, Chrissie Wellington has already won three times in a row, a fourth would place her with former, multi-victors Paula Newby-Fraser and Natascha Badmann!! Yes!! :D/ !!!

Also, Craig Alexander may be primed to go for a third consecutive win of his own -- something incredibly rare on that side of the house. Competition may come from American Chris Lieto (who may choose to balance out his bicycle time with extra work on the run) or more likely from fellow Aussie Chris McCormack, who is balanced enough in all 3 to be a real competitor should he prevent a repeat of last year's cramping. It may also be interesting to see if Chris Lieto decides to go even faster on the bike and hope for a good enough lead on the run; it's crazy to overtrain one discipline, but this almost worked last year (2nd place) so it will be exciting to see!! :D

As for Chrissie's competition -- she hardly has any :D . Miranda Carfrae seems like she's locked it in for a repeat of second place, but closing the gap on Wellington may not be possible for *anyone* this year :)

"CHRISSIE WELLINGTON IS OUT: (an official statement) It is with huge regret and after much soul searching that due to illness Chrissie has announced that she is unable to race. Chrissie started feeling unwell yesterday and attempted to train as normal but without her usual intensity. Chrissie left racking her bike until the last minute and hoped that by this morning her health would have improved sufficiently to start. Chrissie has described this as the hardest decision of her life to date and out of respect for the race and her fellow competitors feels that she should only start if she can compete in the manner that the sport of triathlon has become accustomed to. Chrissie would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe race." :( :( :(

They're streaming the whole thing, but an update is that Andy Potts is ahead of the field after a 48 minute swim (Alexander not far behind now) and Miranda Carfrae is setting up for a hold of the 1 spot :D

Andy Potts is fading from the pack, Miranda Carfrae is settling in the top 10 but is out of the lead, Chris Lieto has one more person before he starts his front-running :)

Arg!!! D: :( :(
I *knew* I should have saved it! I hate when I don't listen to my magic powers ;p It was an HD video released almost directly after the broadcast and so was probably killing the DvD *pre*-sales.. they've let the other ones stay online but this online too early :(
