What the fuck traffic man! And what is with all these campers on the side of the road? Ate a veggie lunch at the Hsi Lai Temple with some chill ass monks and might walk over to pinks for a dog later.

if in the area of 3rd and Fairfax, there's a place called The Grove (shops, movie theatre, farmers market) that's semi-popular... I saw occasional celebs there
...and saw hobos not far north at Beverly and Fairfax

B-listers... w/ hopefully more sanity than James Woods...

-Diedrich Bader (various comedy things)
-David Spade (SNL)
-Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica)

but i only was at the Grove a few times a year & didn't sit around staring at people, so not too bad for them just happening to pass by me :p

Venice Beach is known for weirdos... i didn't ever go, but if you like weirdos, could be interesting

or there's the horrible costumed characters on Hollywood Blvd w/ such reviews as:

"I had the worst experience EVERRRR~!~~!~! I will never come back to Hollywood because of these freaky deaky characters; I have never felt more harassed and violated, and afraid in my entire life. You can't even pay me a hunnid bucks to go back here. GROSSSSS!"

So have you seen any celebrity hobos yet, McKobb? Like Dirty Mike and the Boys?

Oh btw, I looked up Mary McDonnell after your post, tw, and I only just realized that the mom from Donnie Darko (from where I most recognize her) was also "Stands with a Fist" from "Dances with Wolves" — I've seen Donnie Darko a bunch of times and had never put that together before :p

yeah it's weird when you watch something old & see someone you now recognize :p

like i had no association w/ the Negan actor, but then noticed he was the Comedian in Watchmen when i re-watched that

No celebs of any sort unless you count some black dude pushing a CD that has not been released to the general public in front of the Chinese theatre. I did eat at an Ethiopian restaurant on Pico which was damn good. Also hit up the tar pits and some museums.

I did hang out at venice some. I read some parts at a screen writers workshop with my bro. One is called "Christmas in the K-hole" mixing real shots and claymation by some Canadian dude. My brother had us read the lead in to his dystopian near future fantasy/sci-fi, and some chick is working on a comedy about the competition of pre-k enrollment in LA based on her real exp.

I thought it didn't rain in LA? It's been precipitatin since 0630! I did find some excellent falafel in Burbank. The godawful droppings at the Insomnia grill in Auburn ain't worth eating. Come to think about it I haven't had good falafel since Berkeley.

It only rains in L.A. when they’re filming a horror or romance movie I think — do you know which one it was? ;p

if you see them & like fruit, try an acai bowl... i think they are more common out west

...but different places make them different ways so i vouch for nothing

"These aint no rain screens"

Don't be so sure! ;p The Truman Show was only cancelled in 1998, and the simulation boundaries have only expanded since then. The rain screens have been placed much higher — now the dome can even contain air travel. Actually, almost all of [future] Arizona Bay is under one giant rain screen.

I did. I mean probably my only chance to go to one so why not?

As for the movie it was your average women's empowerment comedy where men are dogs or objectified. In that light it delivered a few good laughs with many moments more appreciated by the lighter sex.

As for the event itself it was composed of 90% student body with 90% of those bodies being female :P Nothing like eye candy 360° during an empowerment flick!

Also free tickets/concessions with an after party with bbq, beer, and entertainment offset the wait.

It was kinda cool watching a film with the cast in the same room. Plus she rolled Toomer's corner so she is now awesome for life.
