I've checked their Facebook a bunch of times since then. I've had this annoyance with Facebook in the past: it doesn't seem to be chronological all of the time and info gets lost in a narrow format. Even now, this May 20th, 2019 post is listed above an August 14th, 2019 post. Anyways.. Facebook is garbage, but this was a silver lining: "And last but not least, Andy, Kim, Levi, and Sarah are writing an album that is heavier than a truckload of lead bricks. Our band is unnamed as of this announcement, but we will keep you posted on that." So they may not be SubRosa anymore (lead singer Rebecca was not listed there — she'll be doing a solo project), but it's possible that they'll be mostly together under a new name... Fucking bummer. They're amazing, especially live and especially when given lots of time to play. blerg. I only have one friend who's into them, and she's more of a psycho than I am, so you guys get my complaint for now ;p

Some originality towards its end, but this whole album has been light on lyrics and hasn't had too much to say (though Senecan philosophy can be interesting, not much powerful stuff was pulled from it besides imperatives of "inoculating" oneself against mob voices, which makes sense in our social media hellscape). Not a bad album, but I wouldn't purchase it, and I'm not paying 500 fucking dollars to see them on tour at corporate-stadium/fold-out-chair-center. It seems like it's just instrumental padding for their previous albums so that they can go on the road with the new album and burn some time between better (former) songs. Maybe they figured they'd just shit out this album to loosen up and will have more creativity for a follow-up album. Whatever. I didn't ride the hype train on this album and never really cared whether they intended to release any album at all, despite liking former albums. Either they're feeling it or they're not, and based on Maynard's lyrics, they're not.

Tool has at least started doing two dates per big city, but that's about it. If you want your folding chair in the section where the pit used to be, it's at least $500 and more like $1000+. ..
