Of the generic candies, I'd have to go with Kit Kat also. They work in too many situations (Want sweets? Want something semi-filling? Need a little energy?) ;p
..if allowed to go slightly fancier here, then Lindt dark chocolate truffles. Even fancier would just be local shops :p

Darn thieves tricked me out of all of my candy last night.

Gonna have to go today to see if there's any on sale, now.

This year must have been great for candy thieves :D
With social distancing, a lot more people than usual were probably leaving candy curbside, which meant lots of targets for Halloween hi-jinks :D
(For the record, I didn't steal candy when I was a trick-or-treater, but I still respect the carnavalesque atmosphere of pranks and candy liberation) ;D
